Like it or not, it’s clear that Vancouver is experiencing ever changing weather patterns with mild winters and searing hot summer. Metro Vancouver saw record temperatures in the summer if 2015, causing not only numinous wildfires, but left many Vancouver residents suffering from the intense heat.

As such, many homeowners are thinking about installing ductless split air conditioning systems or heat pumps in their Vancouver area homes to help beat the heat. Here are a few frequently asked questions about installing air conditioning:

No! The great think about ductless split systems is that it is comprised of two main components. The “head” is mounted to the walls in the rooms you wish to cool and the “condenser” sits outside, often times on a vibration reduction pad. Modern condensers run quietly and meet most strata and by law noise regulations.

How much to install air conditioning at home?
It depends! Air conditioners, like automobiles come in all types, sizes, applications and of course, cost. Many factors come into play with pricing out a new air conditioner:

  • Type of equipment current in the home
  • Size of the home/room the unit is cooling
  • Which rooms are you planning on cooling?
