Reminder: Keep 3-year Vault Maintenance on your calendar
WorkSafeBC rules require buildings in Greater Vancouver to have their electrical maintenance for their electrical vault be up to date. If a building’s vault maintenance isn’t up to date, BC Hydro crews are not allowed to enter the vault and cannot restore power if there is a power outage causing disruption to businesses and inconveniencing customers.
Every three years, as mandated by WorkSafeBC and BC Hydro, a building needs to have their whole electrical vault de-energized, the equipment taken apart and their components cleaned and checked to see if any repairs are needed before the power is restored. Having a routine 3 year maintenance schedule reduces the risk of experiencing equipment failure if there is an electrical explosion (arc flash) preventing damage to equipment and the safety risk to the public and employees.
Ashton Service Group has certified high-voltage contractors to maintain building’s electrical vaults. Have a certified electrician enter the vault to verify if your electrical vault is up to date by checking the last service sticker.
