Don’t Forget About Cleaning These 5 Items

The weather is getting nicer and hotter. For some it brings out the cleaning beast and trust us we all win when these people are around. Perhaps let them know or keep these spots in mind when you do go through your cleaning checklist.

1. The Trash Can

Yes, we know the trash can is meant to hold garbage. But there are germs and bacteria that are on parts of the can you touch – like the lid and the sides from when you empty the bin. Use soap and water or a disinfectant spray to get rid of the germs by cleaning the inside and out side of the can.

2. Plant Leaves

For those who choose to keep houseplants, you need to remember that dust collects on the leaves.  Use a damp cloth to gently wipe the dust off of the leaves.

3. Cell Phones

When was the last time you wiped down your cell phone? Did you know that a cell phone has 18x more bacteria on it than a toilet handle. Gross. Use a cleaning wipe or a disinfectant spray on a cloth wipe to wipe down all the sides of the device. Do not forget about the case.

4. Pens and Pencils

We are constantly touching them, chewing on them, losing them anywhere and everywhere. We forget that they sit on every flat surface in the home or office… so they should probably be cleaned. A quick wipe with a disinfectant on a cloth or with a wipe will do the trick.

5. Doorknobs

Just because you can’t see anything on them doesn’t mean it’s bacteria free. Doorknobs are one of the worst when it comes to germ-spreading so wipe all knobs at least once a week.
